North Shore Real Estate Update

In West Vancouver, the sales to new listings ratio was 18% for the month of January compared to 27% in January 2009.  The 18% for January 2010 represents a buyer’s market.  Sales for January 2010 are up by 4 units compared to January 2009.  Also, the West Vancouver listing inventory has dropped by 68 units compared to last year for the same month.  The average price year to date (YTD) was down 8% compared to January 2009. 

In North Vancouver, the ratio of sales to new listings was 32% for the month of January compared to 12% in January 2009.  The 32% for January 2010 represents a buyer’s market.  Sales for January 2010 are up by 28 units compared to January 2009.  In addition, the North Vancouver listing inventory has dropped by 101 units compared to last year for the same month.  The average price year to date (YTD) was up 22% compared to January 2009.
