NORTH SHORE REAL ESTATE UPDATE - JANUARY 2009

In West Vancouver, the sales to new listings ratio is only down slightly at 27% for the month of January compared to 30% in January 2008.  The average price is down 13% compared to January 2008 and down 23% from April 2008.  The good news is well priced homes are continuing to sell, with 22 sales being recorded in January for detached West Vancouver homes. 

In North Vancouver, the ratio of sales to new listings was 12% for the month of January compared to 34% in January 2008.  The average price is down 23% compared to January 2008.  After three relatively good months in North Vancouver, January was slow.
